Miley Cyrus Planned To Go Topless At The VMAs

Former Disney kid and slow-motion car crash Miley Cyrus has revealed that she originally intended to go topless for her infamous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Cyrus’ raunchy duet with Robin Thicke sparked worldwide controversy earlier this year.

In a new documentary about the singer titled Miley: The Movement, Cyrus meets with fellow pop star Britney Spears in an LA recording studio to work on a collaboration. During the meeting, the two discussed Cyrus’ plans for her VMAs performance.

During their conversation, Cyrus indicated that she wanted to replicate the level of controversy that the other caused during her 2003 VMAs performance, when the singer famously shared a kiss with pop queen Madonna.

When Britney asked Miley “You’re not going to be topless on stage are you?” Cyrus replied “I tried, but I don’t think MTV’s going to allow it,” apparently incredulous at the idea that MTV would not let her reveal her breasts during primetime television.

The documentary details Cyrus’ life both at home and in the studio during the recording of her upcoming album, Bangerz.
