QOTSA’s Josh Homme Joins Arctic Monkeys On Stage For ‘Knee Socks’

The love affair between Queens Of The Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys continues, with members of the two bands getting up close and physical during a recent live show for a glorious performance of Arctic Monkeys’ newish track Knee Socks.

Nothing if not showmen, the Arctic Monkeys guys put on their best poker faces as they announced the end of their set to the crowd at The Wiltern in Los Angeles a couple of days ago, launching into Knee Socks – a key feature of their latest full-length album AM – as their closer.

About halfway through the performance, the crowd can be heard going totally bonkers as Homme himself, dripping in effortless cool, struts up to a microphone and begins to cut sick in and around their mouths.

Unfortunately the footage of the moment doing the rounds is bootleg, but the awesomeness of the situation is very easy to make out.

Those who have been paying attention will know that Homme and AM have been conducting something of a musical affair for the last few years. Most recently, the ginger Elvis spent some time with Arctic Monkeys as they recorded their latest album, lending his vocals to the track Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?, returning the favour by inviting AM frontman Alex Turner to feature on QOTSA’s latest masterpiece, …Like Clockwork. Ah, young love.
