Lynyrd Skynyrd Announce First Australian Tour For February 2014

The iconic and formative Southern rock outfit Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced that, for the first time in their illustrious career, they will be bringing the show Down Under. Come February 2014 the band, including founding members Gary Rossington, Johnny Van Zant and Rickey Medlock, will be stopping by Melbourne and Sydney.

60 albums and 30 million sales later, Lynyrd Skynyrd will be unleashing the kind of guitar-driven rock that Australians have only ever experienced via records since the band’s inception in the 1960s.

Rest assured, the ensemble will be fighting fit for the performances, given they released their latest album Last of a Dyin’ Breed just last year. That record managed to crush the charts, landing at #14 on Billboard Top 200 Album chart, their best chart entry since 1977.

Through the decades, Lynyrd Skynyrd have experienced several crises, including losing multiple members in a plane crash, which would have resulted in lesser bands dissolving, but the passion and their legacy lives on.

The below dates are sure to sell out, given just how familiar we all are with the band’s glorious list of anthems, so get in quick. Tickets go on sale 9am, Monday, 21st October via http://www.livenation.com.au
