Matt Bellamy On New Muse: “We’ll Start Recording Music Next Year'”

Yep, that’s the official word from Matt Bellamy himself: if all goes to plan, symphonic rock heroes Muse are going to start work on their seventh studio album in 2014, the follow-up to 2012’s highly acclaimed The 2nd Law.

Bellamy told Billboard the English trio were currently taking a break between albums but will most likely be getting back on the wagon in the new year. “Early next year I think we’ll probably take a break for a few months and at some point next year we’ll start writing new music. I think if everyone is up for it, we’ll start recording music sometime next year.”

To tide you over, the outfit are releasing a film, Muse – Live at Rome Olympic Stadium. It’s the first ever concert movie to be released in a 4K, a new high definition format that has four times the pixels of the current cinema standard. The movie was shot in front of a crowd of 60,000 and will be screening in 20 cities worldwide, including Sydney, from 5th November.

Muse hit Australia for a massive stadium tour this November and December, sharing the stage with local legends Birds Of Tokyo and making their way around all the major stops Down Under in a run of all-ages evenings.
