Woodford Folk Festival 2013/2014 Lineup Announced

The lineup for the Woodford Folk Festival 2013/2014 has arrived. The event is set to help you ring in the new year in style, with some of Australia and the international scene’s most lauded and beloved folk, rock and roots artists including Beth Orton, The Basics, and Clare Bowditch!

In its 28th year, Woodford organisers have seen to it that punters receive what they’re calling their “most ambitious programme ever.” A glance at the lineup will let you know why, with an eclectic range of artists spanning the entire genre spectrum from “Celtic dance rock” to “reggae soul.”

The event will feature “over 500 acts in 28 venues with 1235 shows across six spectacular days and nights,” with UK singer-songwriter Beth Orton sitting supremely atop the bill. Known for her lush “folktronica” sound, Orton has a reputation for splendorous and intimate live shows.

The three-piece of Tim Heath, Kris Schroeder and Wally De Backer make up The Basics, though some may know De Backer better as Australian music royalty Gotye. The band however are stars in their own right forging a reputation for dynamic live performances.

Speaking of Australian music royalty, Woodford 2013/2014 will also feature the inimitable stylings of Melbourne’s foremost songstress, Clare Bowditch. Continuing the Australian thread, this NYE will also see punters treated to sets from rising stars Matt Corby and Busby Marou.

The programme also features talks from former Prime Minister Bob Hawke and Denise Scott, as well as comedy and spoken word performances, craft workshops, children’s activities and a whole host of other entertainment lined up for the event.

Full ticketing details are available at the official Woodford Folk Festival 2013/2014 website, with various options available to punters, including Early Bird specials and payments plans. Readers can stay up to date with all the action surrounding the event at our special Feed right here.
