Lorde And Flume Planning On Collaboration

16-year-old Kiwi songstress Lorde is apparently planning a collaboration with Australia’s foremost makers of beats, Harley Streten a.k.a. Flume. In a recent interview, the young star took time out of her current tour to indicate that the two are looking to work together soon.

“I met Harley and he’s great,” Lorde told triple j‘s The Doctor. “He sent me a bunch of beats, but then I had to start promoting the record and everything got a bit mental. I’m definitely open to [hooking up] on something like that though.”

The Royals hit-maker said she met the king of Aussie EDM after her recent show at Sydney’s Metro Theatre. Other big names that the singer-songwriter has managed to bump into on this tour include Sting and Kanye West, about whom she spoke in the interview, saying:

“That was one of those things that you kind of don’t expect to happen in your life. And then you’re like: here I am…with Kanye West. He had a pretty cool grill on his bottom teeth, I was into that. He was so cool, he’s such a dude.”

News of a Lorde-Flume collaboration first surfaced back in August, after the two had a Twitter back-and-forth following a message from Lorde passed on by NZ magazine Coup De Main. Flume then responded by tweeting the songstress, “Great idea, lets write some music together.”

Lorde responded with a rather terse message of approval, tweeting “bangerzzz.” Both Flume and Lorde are handled by the same PR firm, Bossy. Lorde’s Australian tour continues into next week, while Flume will soon be doing the summer festival rounds, booked for The Plot and Field Day.
