The Members Announce Australian Tour 2013

UK punk rock stalwarts The Members have announced that they will be embarking on an Australian tour this November, with former X-Ray Spex member Rudi Thompson joining the band on saxophone. The band have also announced a slew of blistering support acts for the tour.

Hatched in Surrey, England in the summer of ’77, The Members were lauded for the seamless integration of reggae influences into their sound. They’re best known for their song Sound Of The Suburbs, which has since become an iconic single of the New Wave and punk scenes.

In 2010, The Members were joined by Rat Scabies, founding member of The Damned, on drums, who accompanied them on a tour of Europe and a sold-out tour of the UK alongside The B52s. The trio went on to play acclaimed sets at Glastonbury and the Isle Of Wight festivals.

The band are touring on the heels of their new album inGrrLand, and with “lost member” Rudi Thompson in tow for their East Coast dates, rarely are so many legendary punk rock figures set to take an Australian stage. This is sure to be a tour any self-respecting punk fan will not want to miss.
