9th Annual AMP Longlist Grows With 6 More Artists Added

With just over a day to go until entries close for the 9th Annual AMP longlist, organisers have revealed the latest (but not the last) list of artists and albums that have made the cut. Six more Australian acts have made the cut, stretching the list of potential recipients to a respectable 19.

Of those selected for the longlist today, you’ll notice Aussie hop hip mad dogs Horrorshow, who were selected for their album King Amongst Many, with Sam Buckingham‘s I’m A Bird also making the cut, and Calendar Days from Dick Diver rounding off the new list. Full list below.

These names will be up against the likes of The Delta Riggs, Bob Evens, Abbe May and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds though given the ridiculously high standards of music submitted, it’s truly anyone’s game.

Entries will remain open until 5pm AEDT on Friday, 1st November, so it’s time to get your affairs in order. If you happened to release your album on or after Tuesday, 1st January, you are eligible to raise your hand to make the AMP longlist. If your album is to be released after the cut off point, no sweat, just hook up organisers with an advanced copy.

The shortlist will be announced January 2014 with a winner being revealed later in March. As well as the undying respect of your peers, the winner will also score a cool $30,000.
