Falls Festival 2013/2014 Foster Band Winners And Triple J Unearthed Acts Announced

The organisers of the Falls Music & Arts Festival 2013/14 have announced the winners of their ‘foster’ program and the three Triple J Unearthed acts set to take the stage alongside Vampire Weekend and MGMT, featuring such names as The Middle Names and Chase City.

The organisers offered three paid slots on the Marion Bay lineup to homegrown Tasmanian acts, with local media outlets selecting one artist each, offering support to and promoting the act for the month of October, with the nominees subsequently put to a vote.

Thousands of votes were cast, naming The Habits, fostered by The Advocate, The Middle Names, fostered by Togatus, and Lulu and The Paige-Turners, fostered by The Mercury, as the 2013 winners who’ll be rocking with the Marion Bay crowd this New Year’s season.

Also announced are the selections for the Triple J Unwearthed acts set to take each respective Falls stage, with 22-year-old Meg Mac announced for Lorne, experimental artist The Kite String Tangle set for Byron Bay, and Tasmanian surf rock group Chase City slated for Marion Bay.
