Hailing from Manchester, The 1975 took their name from an inscription in a book of Beat poetry. The band took that poetic thread and channeled it into one of 2013’s most lauded indie releases and now the boys have announced they will be playing a short run of Big Day Out 2014 sideshows.
This Mancunian four-piece’s skill in crafting unstoppable pop-infused hooks that sit amongst a sound bed of shimmering layers of guitar, danceable bass lines and frontman Matt Healy‘s characteristic Northern twang saw them shoot straight to #1 in the UK charts.
Catch these rising stars when they kick off their run of official Big Day Out sideshows at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on Wednesday, 22nd January, concluding with an intimate show at Sydney’s esteemed Oxford Art Factory on Monday, 27th January.
