Kings Of Leon Share Rodeo Music Video For ‘Beautiful War’

In the new video for Beautiful War, a track from Kings Of Leon’s new album Mechanical Bull, a prison inmate is forced to take on a real, non-mechanical bull. But don’t worry, as strange as that punishment is, he survives to claim some kind of metaphorical victory over his past.

The almost seven-minute-long video, which you can watch below, tells the story of two men and a woman drinking at a country bar, and the outcomes of their jealousy. There’s dancing, fighting, (yes) a mechanical bull, and a long walk-of-shame for the bull-riding inmate. After his ride, the prison warden claps in approval, making the video just that little bit more improbable.

Kings of Leon have been stepping it up on the video front recently, even enlisting cast members of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to star in a promotional video for Mechanical Bull. After playing two Sydney shows earlier this month, the band have now confirmed that they’ll be back in the country in 2014 for a nation-wide tour. They’ll be embarking on a huge US tour in February 2014, so perhaps we’ll see them after that.
