The summer will soon be upon us and with it Vans Warped Tour Australia will make its highly anticipated return. Ahead of their spot on the Warped Australia lineup, Confession frontman Michael Crafter caught up with our own Mike Hohnen for the latest Music Feeds Podcast.
We caught up with Michael on a sunny day in Perth as he was printing up shirts to get ready for the notoriously ravenous crowds at the Warped merch tables. Michael began by chatting to us about writing for the new record and what the vibe inside of Confession is like at the moment.
Michael told us that since coming off of the Soundwave Festival tour as well as a stint supporting Parkway Drive, the band have also gone through several different directions for the new record, saying, “we’ve basically been writing and rewriting the album as well, while we’re still touring.”
Michael explained that the band’s mission statement for the new record was, “Let’s just do a heavy record, real heavy parts, lots of sing-alongs…no clean singing, and just be a heavy band,” and also told us that number one on his list of bands to see at Warped are Swedish punkers Millencolin.
