Childish Gambino Drops Ted-Esque Ferris-Wheel Video for ‘3005’

Rapper Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover of Community fame), has released the music video for 3005, a cut off his new album Because The Internet, which is available now. Check out the video below, which features Glover and a Ted-like (that’s Seth MacFarlane’s Ted) character enjoying a late, dimly lit ferris-wheel ride. It’s all strangely hypnotic.

Because The Internet features artists such as Azealia Banks, Chance The Rapper, and Jhené Aiko. Glover recently told fans that his departure from the NBC sitcom Community, in which he plays the slow yet charming Troy Barnes, was so that he could process everything which happened to him in the last twelve months, not write a rap record. “[I] didn’t leave Community to rap, I don’t wanna rap. I wanted to be alone,” he said.

Despite this, it’s clear that Because The Internet, Glover’s second studio album on Glassnote Records after 2011’s Camp, might just be helping him come to terms with things he has recently experienced in his private life. His talents as a slasher have now led him to acting, rapping, singing, writing, music producing and even performing as a stand-up comic.
