Music Feeds Podcast Episode #53 – Gold Fields

Set to play both the debut of The Plot and the much anticipated NYE ‘On The Harbour’ 2013, the boys in Gold Fields are keeping momentum as everyone else slows for the holidays. Music Feeds managed to catch up with drummer Ryan D’Sylva for the latest instalment of Music Feeds Podcast.

“It’ll be awesome. We haven’t really played a proper show on New Year’s Eve… So it’ll be good, any festival we play, like if we play Falls or Field Day, it’s always either a day before New Year’s Eve or a day after…so it’ll be cool to have that vibe on stage,” said Ryan of NYE On The Harbour.

Speaking on the changes for the band since the release of their debut LP, Black Sun, Ryan told us, “We got back from America a month ago… So I guess we’re still sussing out how things changed. The headline tour went really well, but these shows now, it’s kind of cool to just see people there.”

Ryan also explains the learning curve involved in the recording of the debut, sessions for which commenced “in America at Capitol Records and Ocean Way Studios.” Several scrapped sessions inspired the band to helm production themselves in singer Mark Robert Fuller‘s parents’ garage.
