Megadeth Premiere New Christmas Album On ‘Kimmel’

Do you hear what I hear? It’s death. Well Megadeth, plugging their spoof Christmas album Thrashing Through The Snow – A Very Megadeth Christmas, on Monday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live talk show. Said Kimmel in his introduction “for a band named Megadeth, they’re surprisingly agreeable.”

The veteran headbangers, who aren’t afraid of a self-depreciating joke now and then, appeared on an infomercial during the show clad in their finest Christmas jumpers. Frontman Dave Mustaine and his cohort bashed their way through some Christmas classics, with their own Megadeth spin of course.

The trio rocked out to a growling Frosty The Snowman, threw a couple of “bla bla blas” into The Little Drummer Boy and shook the ground with a growling “it’s deeeeath” in response to the classic Do You Hear What I Hear? The thrash metallers even took on a duet with indie rocker Jenny Lewis on the 1944 classic Baby It’s Cold Outside. Before she fled in fear with a couple of startled children…

Megadeth put out their 14th studio album Super Collider in June and will be hitting our shores soon as part of the lineup for Soundwave 2014. In the meantime though, for your holiday Megadeth fix, the band are urging you to grab a copy of their Christmas record. “These are the carols, we grew up loving, and you’ll love them, too,” the band say to the camera. “Or Santa will kick you in the throat!” Maybe not so agreeable then.
