Animal Collective Get A Pizza Named After Them

Does an Animal Collective pizza come smeared with strawberry jam or topped with centipedes? Nope. It’s a kind of Meatlovers Post Pizza-Hut – think tasso ham, chicken, smoked andouille sausage meatballs and pepperoni, all on a Sicilian crust.

New York pizza chain Two Boots has blessed the experimental Baltimore group with their very own pizza. The ‘Animal Collective’ now sits alongside other famous pizzas on the menu. There’s one named after metal-giants Slayer, one for Dr. John and even a slice in memory of jazz-man Charlie Parker. There’s even “The Meg”, which, inspired by The White Stripes’ Meg White, comes in the form of a four-cheese white pie.

In what has been a great month for pizza-related music news, we also discovered that former child-star Macaulay Culkin has a pizza-themed Velvet Underground tribute band by the name of The Pizza Underground. Some of the group’s choice song titles include Pizza Day, I’m Waiting for Delivery Man and Take a Bite of the Wild Slice.
