Disco legend and Queen of Funk, Chaka Khan, has announced that in addition to her appearance as part of the upcoming Sydney Festival‘s opening celebrations in the Sydney CBD, the I’m Every Woman hit-maker will be playing a show at Melbourne’s Plenary Hall in just three weeks time.
Since bursting onto the scene in the 1970s as the 18-year-old singer of the band Rufus, Chaka Khan has commanded audiences with her acclaimed vocal ability and highly lauded live performances, and is responsible for crafting one of the world’s most superb and cherished R&B discographies.
Known for her rare ability to sing in a multitude of musical genres, from jazz and R&B to pop, rock, and gospel, this ten-time Grammy Award winner will be kicking off a fast run of Australian shows on Saturday, 11th January at Summer Sounds in the Domain in Sydney, before her Melbourne show.
