Beck In Legal Battle With Inglourious Basterd

Singer-songwriter and alt-rock hero Beck is in the midst of legal troubles over the alleged trashing of a Malibu mansion that the artist rented from German actor and director Til Schweiger, best known for his appearance as Sgt. Hugo Stiglitz in 2009’s Inglourious Basterds, from 2010 to 2013.

According to TMZ, the artist vacated the mansion in February and is now being sued by Schweiger for alleged damage and unauthorised changes made to the house. According to the actor, repairs totalling $40,000 had to be made to fix the “substantial physical damage” sustained by the mansion.

The suit totals $56,704, including unpaid back rent, but Beck is not only refuting the accusations, claiming the mansion was in a bad state upon moving in and citing issues such as mould and plumbing issues, but is countersuing Schweiger for refusing to return the $11,000 security deposit.
