LISTEN: Dum Dum Girls – ‘Rimbaud Eyes’

Showgazing pop dreamers the Dum Dum Girls‘ new album Too True will hit shelves at the end of the month and in anticipation of d-day Dee Dee Penny and co. are streaming the album’s new single Rimbaud Eyes.

This dreamy guitar-driven number pays homage to the 19th-century teenage French poet Arthur Rimbaud. It traverses unchartered territory for the band, giving their 80’s inspired sound a lot more space and texture.

Dee Dee Penny explained to Stereogum last year, “It kind of ventures into a newer, bigger… I don’t know how to describe it. A bigger, rock n’ roll sound or something?” As is usual, pop maestro Richard Gottenhrer (Blondie, The Go-Go’s) is producing the record, helped along again by Raveonettes frontman Sune Rose Wagner.
