Soundwave 2014 Third Lineup Announcement Drops This Friday

UPDATE: The third Soundwave 2014 lineup announcement has finally dropped — full details here!

The third lineup announcement for Soundwave 2014 has been a proverbial carrot, dangling in the faces of increasingly anxious punters, for some time now, but industry sources have now confirmed AJ Maddah‘s news that the long-awaited third SW14 announcement will drop this Friday.

Maddah originally hoped to make the third announcement an early Christmas present for his loyal fans, taking to Twitter to tell a fan that he was “Hoping to announce befre [sic] Christmas.” Maddah had previously revealed that he had “a few internationals left over for the 3rd announcement!”

Last week Maddah told another follower, “3rd announce next week,” in addition to revealing that the equally awaited Sidewave announcements, about which fans have been pestering Maddah virtually non-stop, would commence this week, with timetables slated for release “late this month.”

Readers can check out an extensive rundown of the acts rumoured for the third announcement and the acts Maddah has already said “nope” to, at our Third Lineup Announcement Details page. Looking very likely are Sparks The Rescue, with local spots for The Bennies and King Parrot.

Many fans have been waiting patiently for news regarding Swedish glam metal group Crashdiet, who missed the first announcement deadline after the sudden loss of their manager. Maddah has been cryptic about their fate, saying “at this point they either be on 3rd announcement or not!”

Equally popular amongst speculating fans has been former Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison‘s most recent project Scar The Martyr, whom Jordison himself hinted would be heading down for Soundwave, back in September. Though according to Maddah, the group are simply “a possibility.”

Maddah has stated that Las Vegas post-hardcore outfit Falling In Reverse are “confirmed” for Soundwave, but the industry mogul has refused to make an official announcement until frontman Ronnie Radke‘s visa has been confirmed, today telling a fan, “We’ll know in a few days.”

There may be some extra local heat in the form of Darkc3ll, for whom Maddah is “trying actively to find a spot,” saying the industrial metal group “really desrve [sic] it,” as well as Melbourne’s Ne Obliviscaris. Said Maddah: “Would love to have them provided there is a spot left.”

“Fuck how good would Coldrain be? I have gone bonkers for that band. Will call them tomorrow and see if we can get them!” Maddah emphatically tweeted about the Japanese rock crew, while responding with a “Yes!” when asked if “there any plans on bringing Deaf Havana back soon?”

Ultimately, Maddah has said that the third line announcement is in fact “not much of an announcement.” The promoter said the lineup will drop “This Friday” and will consist of “A few bands.” Stay tuned to Music Feeds and we’ll have the lot of them for you, right here.
