Kirin J Callinan Added To AMP Shortlisted! Event Lineup

The 9th Coopers AMP Shortlisted! event kicks off at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Sunday 26th, January. With less than a week to go, singular Aussie artist Kirin J Callinan has been announced as the final addition to the lineup, which already includes Hermitude, Beaches, Dialectrix, and more.

Shortlisted! is a free event open to the public, running from 6-8pm, where all nine acts continuing on to the shortlist for the 9th Coopers AMP will be announced, as the audience is treated to two hours of local talent, co-hosted by singer-songwriter Ella Hooper and Tim ‘Urthboy’ Levinson.

Callinan himself has been shortlisted for the 9th Coopers AMP for his acclaimed debut full-length, Embracism. The album was produced by Kim Moyes of The Presets at his home studio in Sydney and mixed by Chris Taylor (CANT, Grizzly Bear) in his upstate New York home studio.

The organisers of the Coopers AMP have also announced that fans of the Australian Music Prize can now be in the running to win a house party with Coopers beer and a private performance from a Coopers AMP shortlisted band of their choosing. Head over the AMP Facebook page for details.

The winner of the 9th Coopers AMP will be announced in March and will be awarded $30,000 courtesy of PPCA. This year’s winner faces some stiff competition, with albums by Boy & Bear, Bob Evans, Jagwar Ma, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Drones, and The Delta Riggs longlisted.
