New Major Lazer EP To Drop In Next 24 Hours?

Major Lazer have announced they will “reveal” their long-awaited new EP within 24 hours, according to a recent post on their official Twitter channel. Earlier this month, bandleader Diplo claimed via his personal Twitter account that the EP, which will feature Pharrell, would drop in February.

ML member Jillionaire originally informed fans that the new EP would see the light of day before the new year. When this didn’t eventuate, Diplo aka Thomas Wesley Pentz let fans off the hook and listed the supporting cast: Sean Paul, Elephant Man, RDX, Machel Montano, and Pharrell Williams.

Taking to Twitter, the band wrote, “I PREDICT WITHIN 24 HOURS THE NEW MAJOR LAZER EP WILL BE REVEALED.” Earlier, the band informed their followers that they would soon make an announcement regarding the highly-anticipated release, their first since 2013’s Free the Universe.

Fans were also recently treated to a sneak peek of the band’s collaboration with the man known as Skateboard P, after video of a performance of what is suspected to be Pharrell’s collaboration with the mighty dancehall trio during the Holy Ship! festival cruise made its way online (see below).

Major Lazer are currently in Australia as part of the Big Day Out 2014 tour, which includes a series of sideshows with Chicago-based DJ duo Flosstradamus. The two acts recently performed as part of an epic triple bill with Snoop Dogg in Brisbane. Major Lazer featured on Snoop’s 2013 album.
