The Cure Announce New Album And ‘Trinity’ Tours For 2014

The Cure have revealed they will release their 14th studio album, “tentatively” titled 4:14 Scream, sometime in 2014. The prolific Brit band also announced a new “trilogy”-style live show in which they will perform three albums in full.

The new record follows The Cure’s 2008 release 4:13 Dream and was reportedly recorded at the same time. The band will be touring the world this year and releasing a set of live concert DVDs. So far, the only dates announced will take place at London’s Royal Albert Hall in March as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concerts.

Following The Cure’s previous full-album shows, including one at the Sydney Opera House in 2011 as a part of Vivid Live, the trilogy-style show will reportedly feature the 1980’s albums The Top, The Head On The Door and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me played live in their entirety.

This isn’t the band’s first foray into live trilogy shows. In 2002, The Cure performed albums Pornography, Disintegration and Bloodflowers in full, and 2011 saw the group play Seventeen Seconds, Faith and their debut Three Imaginary Boys, which was released 35 years ago.
