Watch QOTSA’s Josh Homme Eject Stage-Rushing Fan

Footage of Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme launching a stage-rushing fan into the crowd, complete with expletive-laden roasting, has emerged online.

On Tuesday, 4th February during a concert in St. Petersburg, Florida, a male audience member got a little too close to the singer as the band were midway through their song The Vampyre Of Time And Memory. The fan ran towards Homme from the side of the stage, past security, and wrapped his arms around him.

The singer grabbed the man and pushed him off stage, to huge cheers from the crowd. Taking his seat, he then remarked, “Don’t do that… I don’t care if you love me, you can stand right there, dude. I don’t know what you’re trying to do.”

“You’re lucky I didn’t fuck you up, bro,” he continued. “I’m here to play for you, not jerk you off, you fucking douchebag. That guy is the luckiest guy in here because all I wanted to do was kick his ass.”

Homme then turns to a message of peace. “Because we’re meant to be here together, man… I want to play for y’all and show you something and I want to be together… Fuck that guy. Long live us and fuck that guy. You can tell that I’m getting more mellow as I get older.” Check out footage of the incident down below.

Homme recently told Rolling Stone that QOTSA are “absolutely” ready to record another album in 2014. The band are also set to play a mammoth co-headlining Australian tour with industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails in March this year. So let’s hope that no one tries to mess with Homme when he’s on Aussie shores.
