DZ Deathrays ‘Black Rat’ Album Tour Announced

Having proved their mettle conquering the battlefield that is Big Day Out, fuzzy and hard-rocking Brisbane duo DZ Deathrays have announced that they’re taking their professional face-melting skills back on the road this May to celebrate the release of their anticipated sophomore effort, Black Rat.

The album is slated for release Friday, 2nd May and was made with a view to bringing the explosive nature of the band’s live shows into the studio and sending it through home and car speakers and headphones everywhere, working closely with Burke Reid (The Drones, MSTRKRFT).

Reid not only helped Shane and Simon capture the dynamism and riotous nature of their live performances, but aided them in crafting a bona fide album experience that is rich in sounds, textures, and arrangements, so much so that a third musician will now be joining the band on stage.

To find out who the mystery muso is, you’ll just have to come along to one of their Black Rat tour dates. The third member will change frequently and the band have told their fans to expect some special guests as they welcome them into a whole new era in the career of DZ Deathrays.

The Black Rat May 2014 tour kicks off at Elsewhere on the Gold Coast on Thursday, 8th May before dive bombing into Victoria and South and Western Australia, finishing off by returning to the East Coast for gigs in the ACT and New South Wales. Check below for all dates and ticketing details.
