Australian Internet Down For Telstra, iinet, Optus Users

Most of Australian internet users were crippled this afternoon after what appeared to be a fault with an upstream routing issue that caused delays and timeouts for international websites.

The fault began at 13:40 AEDST, and continued for an hour before ISPs were slowly able to get services back online.

The fault caused sites such as Twitter, Facebook and email services to become inaccessible.

“Anyone know of any wider internet issues in Australia at the moment?”

“Ok, simulation of an Australia under Rudd’s Internet censorship plan complete. How’s that blood pressure folks?”
