This is Not Art Program Released

Drumroll! This is Not Art festival have just released the lineup for this year’s four-day independent/underground arts, theatre, writing and sound extravaganza.

Our pick of the bunch?

– A solar powered sound workshop in Civic Park on Thursday the 29th of September for budding music/environment geeks who like BYO noisy beats.

– Fuzzy, fizzy electro duo Peon workshopping and performing at the Renew Newcastle Church on Thursday the 29th.

– Panel discussion “Culture Jamming in the Digital Age” on Saturday October 1 will feature the Chaser’s Dominic Knight and others on how to make trouble and be heard in today’s relentless swamp of spin and PR propaganda.

– Finally! The launch of Renew Australia – the nation-wide continuation of Renew Newcastle, at the crew’s Church HQ on Saturday October 1.

– One of the festival’s biggest shindigs, the Sunday Zine Fair and Artists’ Market in the Kings Street Car Park. How’s that for innovative use of dead urban space?

– A grant writing workshop on Monday October 2 at the Festival Club, for those who want to learn how to work less in pubs and more on their art.

– The Electrofringe sub-festival’s Electroprojections show of new single-channel video works sourced from an open international call, at the  Festival Club on Monday October 2.

Now dive in and suss it out for yourself!
