9. ‘Strayans are proud of their fellow ‘Strayans.

Sometimes we like to exercise a bit of Tall Poppy Syndrome, cutting down our fellow Aussies that we think haven’t deserved their success or have gotten too big for their britches. That wasn’t the case over the weekend, with 28% of the list being Australian – pretty rad considering the sheer volume of music and indeed all pop culture that we get from the States and the UK. It gets even better when you look at the top end of the countdown, with 40% of the top 10 bearing the green and gold. Seems like the ‘Finger rained supreme in the battle for the ultimate Aussie act – they may not have charted as highly as Hilltop Hoods but ol’ Bernie Fanning and friends placed twice in the top 10. Oi, oi, oi, indeed.
