Logitech’s Social Music Experiments With UE Boom

Logitech and Ultimate Ears have unveiled UE BOOM in Australia, a wireless speaker that’s also the first music player designed to make playing your favourite digital tunes a social, portable experience.

UE Boom is the first player to offer 360-degree sound in a battery-powered device, featuring a 15-hour rechargeable battery and a specially developed acoustic skin that’s both water and stain resistant. It’s also compatible with another UE Boom, with the ability to wirelessly connect to a mate’s player through a free app and transform into either stereo-to-stereo mode or traditional left/right stereo mode.

Rory Dooley, Senior Vice President of Music at Logitech UE, says the digital age has changed how we interact with music:

“While online music services have made it easier to access your music, it’s remained a challenge to have an anytime, anywhere listening experience that can be shared with others. UE BOOM solves that problem. Ultimate Ears strives to amplify the social experience of listening to music, bringing people together around the music they love.”

To accompany the release of the UE BOOM, the company teamed up with YouTube comedy channel JASH and its music expert, Reggie Watts, to launch The Social Music Experiment, a light-hearted look at the impact music has on people. In the vids, Reggie and his mate Asif took a UE BOOM and a crazy hypothesis to the streets to understand the effects that social music has on everyday people in everyday places.
