In a matter of weeks, Norwegian black metal dons Kvelertak will be returning to our shores for a run of headlining club shows in support of their recently released sophomore album, Meir. With the buzz surrounding the band at an all-time high, Music Feeds though this would be the best chance to chat to guitarist Maciek Ofstad about all the latest happenings.
The band were last in town back in 2012 where they made their Australian debut as part of Soundwave, performing a run of sideshows with contemporaries Mastodon and Gojira. Ofstad explained that they’re simply itching to return, and are excited by the thought of completing a tour of club shows Down Under.
It’s been a while between releases for Kvelertak who supported their 2010 self-titled debut with live shows for 3 years. This took its toll on fans – and band members, it seems – with Ofstad expressing extreme relief to finally be performing new tracks on stage.
Promising “broken noses, blood, sweat and beer” on their upcoming tour, it sounds like Kvelertak have a seriously heavy show lined up for Australians. Check out the full interview below, or download it for your future podcasting pleasure here.
