Ginger And The Ghost once again have their eyes set on the stratosphere. The avant-garde, future pop duo are today unveiling a new single that both celebrates the very essence of grounded, human connection, yet, also feels like it belongs in another universe entirely.
With its crescendoing, tribal-like electronic percussion and soaring, airy vocals, remiscient of such avant pop auters like Robyn and Bjork, ‘Kindred Spirits’ celebrates the beauty and excitement of the exact moment of real, electric human connection.
“’Kindred Spirits’ is a small gift wrapped in lyrics and sound,” explains one half of the duo, Missy Gilbert. “A music myth made as an imprint for our lineage. The song honours and celebrates the spirit that finds two people – I imagined the moment when they connect. They share an umbilical cord and are birthed at the same time by the spirit allowing them to have that sense of knowing that only they have. They become a mirror image of each other, a reflection of themselves.”
While currently touring through Europe, Ginger And The Ghost will head back to Australia later in the year to celebrate the release of the new single, which you can spin here below.
