PREMIERE: Gold Coast Indie-Poppers Ivey Unveil Greatest “Shitty Home Video” You’ve Ever Seen For Groovy New Bop, ‘Always’

Gold Coast-bred indie pop crew Ivey have returned with some delightfully vintage visuals for their fresh groove, ‘Always’.

Fans of groups like San Cisco, Jungle Giants & Last Dinosaurs should enjoy this toe-tappin jam off the group’s upcoming sophomore EP, which has been brought to life in a stylishly deadpan, Wes Anderson-inspired DIY music video packed with 70’s summer vibes.

“I really wanted to create something interesting and arty that not only reflected the bands personality but also the Gold Coast’s personality,” explains band founder and video director, Lachie McGuffie.

“I’ve been watching a lot of Wes Anderson films lately, and really wanted to take a crack at DIY directing and editing using his super zoom style and his emphasis on limited colour palettes. I also knew that I couldn’t do that in the most professional way, so I decided to utilise the tacky DIY style to my advantage blurring the lines between an artsy indie film clip and shitty home video that hopefully creates a fun, entertaining clip that everyone likes!”

To celebrate the fresh release, the band have also announced a run of East Coast tour dates, kicking off in Wollongong, before heading to Melbourne, Gold Coast, and Brisbane.
