PREMIERE: Moreton Put Themselves Under The Microscope For New ‘Specimen’ Video

Rising trio Moreton have today premiered their brand new video for their current single Specimen. The band went above and beyond for the offering, with the song’s many interconnected themes providing some oft-neglected substance we so sorely crave.

The video is a classy affair, draped in black and white, making it just so goddamn pleasing on the eyes. The band decided to put vocalist Georgia front and centre, or under the microscope as the band explain it, pushing forward the concept of being viewed critically by others.

Speaking of the union between song and video, Georgia elaborates:

“Specimen is a significant track for us. It says a lot about where we’re coming from and where we’re going to – both musically and conceptually. The song is about scrutiny and the lenses we use to view ourselves versus others, and so Bryn and I felt like it was right to put me as the singer under the scrutiny of the lens and the viewer!”

The band tagged director Bryn Chainey for the video, who also had some pretty cool things to say about some of the more subtle meanings to the clip.

“We treated Georgia’s performance not as a strict “performance” but more like she’s using the song to will herself on: so long as she doesn’t surrender she’s still free.”

So In a day that’s filled with dangerous levels of vapid, meaningless noise, have a ‘lil substance, y’all. The band will also be performing soon, catch those dates below.
