They often say that everything slows down during winter, people go into hibernation… Here at Boundary Sounds, it must be summer cause we are quite literally on fire!

Purple Sneakers recently turned 3 years old, cementing itself as an indie force to be reckoned with as we continue to bring the party every Friday night at the Abercrombie Hotel.   In the 3 years since it all kicked off way back when there have been over 85,000 people through the door, 17,300 jugs of beer, 13,420 photos taken, 698 guest DJs, 17 smashed toilets, 8 couples wed & met and 3 New Years Eve House parties!

Where would Purple Sneakers be without PhDJ & the Purple Sneakers DJs.  The ‘sneakers DJs crew are one of the only Australian DJs diverse and popular enough to be able to be booked on large-scale dance festivals as well as band-driven line ups. In a little over the past 12 months they’ve played Splendour in Grass, Good Vibrations, Falls Festival, Parklife, The Great Escape, Playground Weekender, We Love Sounds, Come Together Festival, and many more.

PhDJ, who is currently off on his tour of Europe playing at the worlds biggest indie party “club NME” , has joined forces with local producer Black Anthony to form Dept.  (pronounced department).  Dept. has in its infancy already completed official remixes for Dukes of Windsor, Sparkadia, Bluejuice, and The Dirty Secrets, which will all be seeing the light of day over the coming month (the latter of which is available for release through iTunes worldwide).

Boundary Sounds has also joined forces with local music tastemakers Levity to bring you their latest event – Levity Nights!  For 14 consecutive weeks LEVITY NIGHTS will showcase the best indie bands and DJs for your aural pleasure each Thursday at the one and only Hotel Hollywood in Surry Hills.  So far, Levity Nights has featured the likes of The Holidays, Ruby Rose (MTV), Red Riders DJs, Sprint DJs with DJ sets from Yves Klein Blue, Cut Off Your Hands, Simon Carter (ex-The Cops) and heaps more to come!

We are also gearing up for the Great Escape Festival happening over October Long weekend where we will be presenting the Purple Sneakers stage!

And if that wasn’t enough, plans have already been laid for the  4th Annual Purple Sneakers New Years Eve House Party, happening this New Years Eve at Sydney Uni’s Manning House across 3 levels!  Phew!  Stay tuned for more on that soon!

With heaps more on the horizon, looks like what they say is true!  There is DEFINITELY no rest for the wicked!
