These hardcore heroes hail from Canada, eh, and their take on the genre is one infused with intensity, intelligence, humour and punk rock spirit.
Fucked Up‘s 2008 album The Chemistry of Common Life set a new standard for what hardcore bands could do in the 21st Century and their most recent release, 2014’s Glass Boys, stomps on the envelope even harder. A piece of work shot, “straight from the heart”, Glass Boys injects the band’s trademark fierce vocals, grumbling guitars and unique production with the kind of contemporary accessibility that’s enabled them to grace magazine covers and share the stage with bands the calibre of Foo Fighters.
The six piece will no doubt be performing new material from the album during their set at Soundwave, which kicks off on Stage 5 from 3.20 pm on Slipknot day.
