For any artists, having a song appear in Triple J’s hottest 100 is a big deal. For Australian acts however, there seems to be a deeper level of appreciation for being recognised by fans of Australian music. We’re 50 songs in to this year’s triple j Hottest 100 Countdown, and so far it’s shaping up pretty nicely. Aussie artists are featuring thoroughly in the mix, with tracks from Kimbra, Seeker Lover Keeper, 360, Busby Marou, Pnau, Drapht, Jebediah, New Navy, Owl Eyes, Washington, Stonefield, The Grates and Architecture In Helsinki grabbing places
Foo Fighters have just knocked off Powderfinger to claim the most amount of songs ever voted into the Hottest 100 countdowns over the years. Powderfinger held the record, having 20 songs voted in since the countdown began. Fighters now have 21 with their singles, Rope coming in at 63 and Andriana slotting in at 97
