12-Year-Old Son Of Metallica’s Robert Trujillo To Play Bass For Korn

UPDATE 19/04/17: Footage has emerged of Tye Trujillo making his live debut with Korn.

ORIGINAL STORY: Korn are about to begin a South American tour, and they’ve got a new band member joining them for a bunch of their upcoming shows.

Tye Trujillo, the 12-year-old son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, is filling in for Korn bassist Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu on the tour, because Fieldy is “unable to make the shows” due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

Tye (who already plays bass in his own band The Helmets) clearly has bass in his genes, as proven by this footage of him and his dad jamming together on stage.

In a statement, Korn say, “We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye.

“We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May.”

Korn have revealed to Music Feeds that they’re plotting a new Australian tour for 2017, and at the moment it appears Fieldy will be back in action before they head down under.
