A New Offspring Album Is Coming In 2016

There’s a bit of a hold up with the new Offspring album. Despite releasing a new song earlier this year, the punk rock veterans have revealed that fans will have to wait til 2016 for a brand new record to come out and play.

Dexter & co dropped their first new song since 2012’s Days Go By album in February, in the form of stand-alone single Coming For You. But, as lead guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman tells The Aspen Times, the rest of the record isn’t coming along quite so quickly.

“We want to do a record, that’s the plan, but it’s taking forever…” Noodles explained. “We released this song because we felt good about it immediately. It was one of the first one or two songs we finished, so we were like, ‘If we wait on this it might be another year, year-and-a-half. Why don’t we just put it out and see what happens?’”

As well a being impatient to release new material as it comes, Noodles also blamed the band’s delay in knuckling down to work on a new record on renovations to their southern California studio.

He wrapped things up by telling the Colorado paper that The Offspring expect to release their 10th studio album “sometime next year”.

The band last toured Australia in 2013 as part of both the Soundwave and Vans Warped Tour lineups.
