A long-awaited sequel to Tenacious D‘s 2006 cult classic ‘The Pick Of Destiny’ has been announced byJack Black at himself during a performance at Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta.
As myAJC reports, as Tenacious D were performing their set, Jack Black took a moment to tell the crowd that the ‘The Pick Of Destiny’ sequel is definitely happening, and it will be out in October.
“I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out,” Black said. No word on whether Dave Grohl will be reprising his role as ‘Satan’.
The band’s last album was in 2012, Rize of the Fenix, but Jack Black and Kyle Glass are set to release a new Tenacious D album, tentatively titled Post Apocalypto. In an interview with Conan O’Brien last year, Black said that they’re working on a rock opera and compared the project to Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
