A Triple J Caller’s Story Of Runescape Betrayal Has Set The Internet On Fire

Of all the stories you’ll read today, this one is going to be the wildest.

In case you weren’t aware, triple j has a segment called ‘Dog Act’ that the Drive team, Gen Fricker and Lewis Hobba, and guest Jess Perkins administrate. Basically, people call up and tell the hosts of a story where they think they’ve been dogged and the hosts, and the listeners, chime in to judge whether the story indeed consists of a ‘dog act.’

Well, a caller named Cam’s story of a dog act is one of betrayal, heartbreak and an M. Night Shyamalan-worthy twist that has sent the internet well and truly alight.

Basically, a decade ago, Cam was playing RuneScape (weren’t we all) and killing goblins in an effort to level up. A seemingly kind stranger with the username ‘lil_dudey69’ came along and offered to trim Cam’s bronze armour (???). However, lil_dudey did our boy Cam dirty, because as soon as Cam handed the armour over, lil_dudey did a runner.

You know what they say? Those who get hurt, hurt. And Cam, instead of being too down and out about his armour never to be seen again, went and did the same dastardly thing to other players. The circle of life.

The triple j textline, which is often a dumpster fire, blew up with appraisal, or condemning, for Cam.

“This is hands down without a doubt the best dog act segment that I’ve ever heard on this show,” one person said.

“This is the biggest dog act since 2006 Australian idol . I have never been more offended in my life,” said another.

The story also made it over to Reddit, with a Runescape subreddit currently blowing up with praise for both Cam and lil_dudey69.

On top of that, a YouTube user named Buddy actually animated the whole bloody thing, so you can relive the story of Cam and his bronze armour over and over again.

Watch the video below, and wait patiently for the inevitable Netflix adaptation.
