AC/DC Stream First Single From New Album, ‘Play Ball’

AC/DC have unveiled Play Ball, the first single to be taken from their forthcoming 16th album, Rock or Bust – their first without founding member Malcolm Young. A preview of Play Ball, which recalls 1980’s Back In Black, was previously featured in an ad for Major League Baseball’s post-season coverage.

The Australian hard rock legends unveiled the details of the album, as well as confirming Malcolm Young’s departure late last month. The album, produced by Brendan O’Brien, who worked on 2008’s Black Ice, will feature Malcolm’s nephew Stevie filling in on guitar and is out Friday, 28th November.

After months of circulating rumours, Malcolm Young’s family and management confirmed earlier this month that the guitarist is suffering from dementia and has been admitted to a facility specialising in dementia care. Unable to play or tour, Stevie Young will also fill in for his uncle on the road.

UPDATE 07/10/14: While Music Feeds originally reported that AC/DC unveiled a stream of Play Ball, the anticipated first single from their forthcoming new album, the track actually appears to be the title track from the album, Rock or Bust, given the lyrics in the song uploaded contain the title of the song, and the song bears little resemblance to the snippet previously revealed. The song is labelled “Play Ball” on the band’s official Vevo.

UPDATE #2 07/10/14: AC/DC have pulled their stream of Rock or Bust from their official Vevo channel and replaced it with the stream of Play Ball.
