Adele Tells Brisbane Mayor To “Shut Up” With His “Bloody Moaning” Over Gabba Concert

Adele, straight-talking kween, reckons Brisbane’s Lord Mayor Graham Quirk should “shut up” with all his “bloody moaning” about her playing at the Gabba.

The Grammy-grabbing soul diva performed an 18-song set in front of a record-busting crowd at the monster cricket stadium in the first of a weekend double-header last night, using a dynamite combo of her sky-scraping vocal prowess and loveable banter to charm the pants off everyone in attendance.

However, despite the overwhelmingly positive vibes, the endearingly foul-mouthed cockney did reserve some stern words for the haters.

“I know there was a bit of controversy about me playing the Gabba,” Adele reportedly told the sold-out crowd of 60,000, referring to Quirk and his deputy Adrian Schrinner’s public bellyaching over the concert being held at the sportsground because of its associated public transportation headaches, as well as cricket officials’ concerns that her horde of fans would ruin the pitch.

“I think they should shut up with their bloody moaning, fucking hell. Shut up!” The ‘Hello’ belter reportedly proclaimed (via News Corp) “I come from fucking London. I’m happy to be in Brisbane.”

Adele’s top bantz continued over the course of the evening, with the eternally self-depreciating dear joking about almost tripping over her majestic plum ball gown.

“I don’t know if you saw, but after you did your marvellous sing along to the ‘Hello’ chorus, I nearly tripped up those stairs did you see me, Oh My God!” she cackled. “I forgot to lift it up and tried to run up and nearly fell over.”

“I’m sure you heard my dodgy note afterwards, I fucking shat myself,” she added to 360 degree LOLs.

“I’ve never worn a dress like this. I’m basically celebrating Beauty and The Beast coming out.”

Catch footage of the first half-hour of Adele’s first Gabba concert — including the dress incident, and some candid chatter about her Aussie adventures patting koalas, feeding crocodiles and trying to navigate skyping her man with the ridiculouso time difference — alongside her full set-list (which you can compare to the one from Perth here) below.

Meanwhile, Adele is currently performing at the Gabba again tonight, before she jets down to Sydney for her show this Friday, 10th March.
