AFI & ††† (Crosses) Sidewave Shows Announced

Genre-bending California rockers AFI and the Chino Moreno fronted ††† (Crosses) have officially confirmed two Sidewave shows for Sydney and Melbourne while they tour the country for Soundwave 2014.

They’ll be touting around their latest release Burials, which dropped last October to rave reviews around the world from fans and media alike. It’s the 9th album from the band and AFI’s first such offering since 2009′s Crash Love.

Frontman Davey Havok has opened up about the meaning behind the release. “This record is of silence, of burials, and the burials that result from that silence,” he explained cryptically. “It’s of betrayal, cruelty, weakness, anxiety, panic – deep and slow – despair, injury and loss. And in this it is shamefully honest and resolutely unforgiving.”

They’ll be joined onstage by the musical side project of Deftones singer Chino Moreno, ††† (Crosses), who will be bringing their unique sound to Australian fans for the first time. The band’s full-length self-titled debut is now due for release in Australia 14th February via Sumerian Records.
