After Work Art – launches Tonight (6th March) with Former Child Stars

After Work Art is the new best way to say goodbye to your Friday.

The Oxford Art Factory throws open its doors at the post-work-friendly hour of 6pm every Friday night, and warmly invites you in for a drink.

Entry is free, and the OAF is laying on bands in the gallery bar nice and early. Also on offer are some of the cheapest jugs of beer and cocktails you’re likely to find on Oxford St. The OAF student discount passport, ‘Das Kleine Buch’ will be valid until 11pm. The bands will be playing three short sets, there will be movies, couches galore, and wireless internet access for the less socially inclined.

The resident band for the month of March are Adelaide ex-pats Former Child Stars. Although their name may suggest otherwise, we reluctantly inform you that neither Macauley Caulkin or the fat kid from ‘Hey Dad’ will be present, but the boys in the band promise to deliver nothing but the most infectious of indie pop.

You can listen to a sample of the Former Child Stars’ forthcoming EP, titled ‘Serotonin City’ and produced by the formidable rock fingers of Scott Horscroft on their MySpace ( http://www.myspace.com/formerchildstars ).

For the month of April we have lined up a stellar double residency of The Silents and Decorated Generals – stay tuned for more news on the only way to end your week.

Now you have even more reasons to look forward to Friday night!
