Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard Robbed at Gunpoint

Alabama Shakes’ vocalist Brittany Howard was robbed at gunpoint after a gig in Nashville. As reported by the Nashville Scene, the unfortunate incident occurred after Howard played with her side project Thunderbitch on Saturday, December 15.

Having returned to the home of Bomb Shelter owner, Andrija Tokic, Howard was relaxing with friends on the front balcony when two male teenagers approached with guns drawn. According to Seth Riddle (manager of Snakes Records and the Serpents) who was present at Tokic’s home, the robbers were “skinny little” teenagers wearing hoodies and aged about 15 or 16 years old.

The armed thieves got away with a “few dozen” dollars and mobile phones. No-one was hurt during the incident. Apparently, Howards, Riddle and co shook off the experience by going out for a few drinks later that evening.
