All Tomorrow’s Parties Might Be Returning In 2013

Earlier in the year, Feeds reported on news that All Tomorrow’s Parties, would not be returning to Australia due to a dismal run of the festival on Aussie soil back in 2009.

Though word on the streets is that ATP might in fact be coming back down. As Mess+Noise has it, Australian rock royalty Spencer P Jones got tongues wagging at a gig at Yah Yahs in Melbourne on Sunday night after mentioning that the original lineup of The Beasts of Bourbon – Jones, Tex Perkins, Kim Salmon, James Baker and Boris Sujdovic – would reunite for the festival. Low, The Drones and The Jesus Lizard were also tipped to be making the journey.

Now, if we turn to the official ATP website, we see that the company has recently made some changes and has, in fact, announced that ‘many exciting developments and opportunities’ have landed in front of the company.

The festival was here in 2009 but apparently failed to finish in the black. Organisers stated that they haven’t totally taken the concept of returning to Australia ‘off the table’, but following poor ticket sales, it was looking very, very bad. A spokesperson for the Mt Buller (Victoria) showgrounds, which held the last event, has neither confirmed nor denied the rumours, further fuelling the speculations.

So what do you think, if you didn’t go last time, would you go this time?
