Alter Bridge To Tour In 2013 + New Album

Although the year of 2012 was quite dull for Alter Bridge, it seems that 2013 will be very different. With guitarist Mark Tremonti attending to his recent solo project for a majority of the year, Alter Bridge action was low, but thanks to a recent tweet from the man, it’s clear that Alter Bridge are planning a 2013/2014 World Tour.

Although still in planning stages, it’s clear that the intention is there and expressions of interest from promoters and festivals will soon follow suit. In a statement on the band’s website, speculation was confirmed: “Mark Tremonti, Myles Kennedy and Scott Phillips met up with management yesterday to plan-out Alter Bridge’s schedule for 2013, which will include a new album & World Tour.” With a world tour clearly including Australia, all signs currently point to our own Soundwave; however, a headline tour surely wouldn’t go astray either.

Although there’s no information about the 2013 album release, it will be their fourth, following up the 2012 creation of AB III. This announcement confirms that the band is actually still together. Many had begun to believe that the silence was alluding towards an indefinite hiatus.
