Angel Olsen Releases ‘Forgiven/Forgotten’ Music Video

Written by Greg Moskovitch on December 9, 2013

American singer-songwriter Angel Olsen has unveiled her Freaks and Geeks-inspired music video for single Forgiven/Forgotten, from her upcoming sophomore full-length effort, Burn Your Fire for No Witness, the follow-up to her acclaimed 2012 debut album, Half Way Home.

The clip was shot in the suburbs of Asheville, North Carolina, using a classic 16mm film camera and was directed by filmmaker Zia Anger, who’s previously worked with Angel Olsen on her videos for Tiniest Seed and Sweet Dreams. Anger says she used the show Freaks and Geeks as inspiration.

Burn Your Fire for No Witness is slated for release Friday, 21st February 2014 via esteemed indie rock label Jagjaguwar, best known as the home of Bon Iver and Dinosaur Jr. A more energetic, brighter effort, the new record was produced with the help of The Paper Chase‘s John Congleton.
