Angus Stone Australian Tour Dates 2012

Written by Mike Hohnen on July 13, 2012

The sweetheart of Australian music Angus Stone has today announced plans for his solo album as well as a string of tour dates around the country where he will be showcasing his own material.

Broken Brights was officially released today and has already earned 4 Stars from Mojo Magazine, triple j Album of the Week, and a sold-out European launch tour. I’m guessing the album is amazing. Stone commented on the release, detailing his personal opinion on the album: “For the people that have listened to Julia and I play for so long, I’m looking forward to handing it over to them so that they can create their own worlds & experiences with the writings. To play live as my own in front of those people, it’s going to be a different trail of gravel & gold, but nonetheless very exciting.”

The album manages to explore all corners of Stone’s musical repertoire, from indie pop to cowboy blues to psychedelic rock and country folk, without ever diverting too far from the unique Stone sound we have grown to love through his other project with sister Julia, of course: Angus & Julia Stone.

Stone will also be taking the tour through his alma mater Barrenjoey High School up Northen Beaches way this July, followed by a stint at this year’s SITG. The rest of the dates are below.
