Aracde Fire Will Be “Shocked” If James Murphy Doesn’t Reform LCD Soundsystem

We’re all familiar with the lovin’ between Arcade Fire and James Murphy and it seems the Canadian indie superstars have all the inside gossip, with the band’s multi-instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry saying he’d be “shocked” if Murphy doesn’t get his now-defunct outfit LCD Soundsystem back together.

Parry told The Sun that the many tours Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem have undertaken together led to a love of the other’s tunes. “We have always admired each other’s band — LCD are our favorite band ever. I’d be shocked if James doesn’t reform them one day. They are too good not to.”

He also disclosed that Murphy’s production work on Arcade Fire’s upcoming fourth studio album, Reflektor, was a long time in the making, saying, “We have tried to work with Murphy before but we could never match our diaries. But this time the schedules worked.”

Murphy retired the group behind the smash Daft Punk Is Playing At My House in 2011 but has wrestled with the decision since, saying in 2012 that he had doubts as to whether it was the right move. Arcade Fire, however, are at the top of their game, with Reflektor set for international release on 29th October and a headlining spot at the 2014 Big Day Out set for next January.
